The pain radiates down your arm.
You become short of breath. You’re dizzy and nauseous. You break out in a cold sweat.
Something’s seriously wrong.
As much as you don’t want to admit it, you know, deep down, you’re having a heart attack.
What do you do next? You call for an ambulance. Right?
You don’t go:
"I really need medical attention, or I might die."
"But my schedule’s kind of busy today."
"Then I’ve got that client dinner tomorrow night."
"Then, it’s the holiday weekend. A&E will probably be packed."
Maybe on Monday or Tuesday I’ll call for that ambulance."
Of course you don’t.
In a life-or-death situation, you act. You do what you have to do to survive. And you do it right now. You don’t start weighing options or making excuses.
But what about when it comes to your business? Your audits?
It’s funny how we don’t always act with that same urgency when we have a business emergency.
You see the warning signs.
You’ve missed a few deadlines. There’s been the odd data error, or missing document. Your team is exhausted from the latest all-nighter (who does all-nighters any more anyway?)
But instead of calling for help, you keep telling yourself you’ll get to it later.
Maybe you don’t see it, but you could be bleeding time and money.
But you’ll deal with it later.
I’m sorry to be the one to break it to you but later isn’t a strategy.
Those errors happen, no-one’s pretending they don’t. But if they’ve happened once, they’ll happen again. If you’re hoping it magically sorts itself out… well, hope isn’t a strategy either.
If you felt a small pain in your chest, you wouldn’t ignore it and just hope it was nothing, would you? You’d be looking round for help.
So why aren’t you looking for help with your business?
Prevention is better than cure, so maybe it’s time to pull in a few tools to keep your business healthy.
Tools that save you time.
Tools that keep everything in line and adding up.
Tools that cut out hours of repetition.
Little problems rarely cure themselves. They usually become big problems, and in 2025 they are so easy to prevent.

Christiaan
